Weblogs: Old School

Before the next schism in the Objectivist movement begins, let me go on record: I have no problem with The Objective Standard's new weblog's name being too plain. If anything, I think it's too New Skool, since I prefer the older, descriptive and pleasant-sounding term, "weblog", to the newer, cruder and less-meaningful term "blog". (No surprise there, if you've noticed that my weblog is called "Robert Nasir" and is located at RobertNasir.com/weblog.)

So there. I said it. Hope they don't kick me out of NoodleFood, as Diana Hsieh, and her weblog ... er, blog ... rule!

And if you know anything about the aforementioned Objectivist "schisms" and their causes and effects, you MUST read, first this post, then Dismuke's comments, then my darling Amy's delightful comments!

Unbelievable ... until I remember that she's the one who told Dr. Bernstein last year, on the drive home from the Michigan Upper Penninsula, and in no uncertain terms, that we're g'damn f'ing right going to stop in Frankenmuth! Long story - you had to be there. Speaking of which, this year's EGO Camping Trip is already scheduled - be there, or be ... well ... elsewhere.

You are sooooooooo excommunicated! Your clever wife is still in fine standing, however. :-)

(And darn it all anyway, I think I kinda agree with you about the superiority of "weblog" over "blog.")
